On 5 March, the fourth session of the 14th National People's Congress opened in Beijing. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the PRC and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, and other Party and state leaders took their seats on the rostrum. Premier Li Qiang delivered the Report on the Work of the Government and Zhao Leji, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, presided over the session.
Sun Libin, CPPCC member, vice chairman of the Jiangsu General Chamber of Commerce and chairman of Linkage Group, was deeply encouraged and inspired after hearing the report. As a CPPCC member from a technology enterprise, he described his feelings in three phrases: hard-won achievements, responsibilities on our shoulders today, and confidence in the future.
The draft outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan not only stresses that "developing new quality productive forces is an intrinsic requirement of high-quality development", but also explicitly calls for "aiming at high-level self-reliance and strength in science and technology, strengthening original innovation and tackling key core technologies" and "creating new forms of intelligent economy, deepening and expanding AI plus, and accelerating the adoption of a new generation of intelligent terminals and agents". In the 2026 government work tasks, the report further deploys "promoting the commercial and large-scale application of artificial intelligence in key industries and fields", pointing a clearer direction for technology enterprises.
